Today's DWI Headlines

Did You Know?
  • Open container laws - US laws which prohibit possessing and/or drinking from a open container of alcohol in certain areas. Common examples include inside an automobile, or outdoors. Some jurisdictions may even classify drinking inside a parked automobile as Driving under the influence rather than merely an open container violation.
  • Designated driver - a person in a group of people intending to drink alcoholic beverages who promises to remain sober in order to safely drive the drinking persons home afterwards.
  • Drunk driving or drinking and driving - the act of operating a motor vehicle after having consumed alcohol (ethanol) or other drugs, to the degree that mental and motor skills are impaired. It is illegal in most jurisdictions within the U.S.
  • Damage Waiver - car hire insurance that is often offered and you should consider it. Third Party Insurance is nearly always included in the quote but you will not be covered for yourself or the vehicle. Check the terms carefully.
  • Recreational drug use - the use of psychoactive drugs for recreational rather than for working or for medical or spiritual purposes, although the distinction is not always clear.
