Did You Know?
  • BAC - blood alcohol content is expressed in terms of milligrams of alcohol per millilitres of blood, or as a percentage. (10 mg/100 ml = 0.01 g/100 g = 0.01 %).
  • Attorney - a lawyer in the United States is technically called Attorney at Law or Attorney-at-Law.
  • Damage Waiver - car hire insurance that is often offered and you should consider it. Third Party Insurance is nearly always included in the quote but you will not be covered for yourself or the vehicle. Check the terms carefully.
  • BAC blood alcohol content legal limit - in the United States is commonly 0.08 (i.e., 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood). Some states include a lesser charge - often known as driving while impaired - at a BAC of, say, 0.05 or above but less than the legal limit for the more serious charge.
  • Field sobriety test - a series of standardized physical motor skills and mental tests performed by police officers who have stopped a suspected drunk driver to better at determining the level of impairment.
