  • Breathalyser or breathalyzer - a device for estimating blood alcohol content BAC from a breath sample. Breathalyzer is the brand name of one manufacturer of these instruments, but has become a generic trademark for all such instruments. Intoxilyzer, Alcosensor, Alcoscan, and BAC Datamaster are other common brand names.
  • DUI DWI Penalties - Some U.S. states also increase the penalties for drunk driving (even to the point of making it a felony) if certain other aggravating circumstances besides a very high BAC are present.
  • Medical Payments (MP) - insures against the cost of medical expenses for bodily injury sustained in an accident beyond any expenses that may be covered by Personal Injury Protection (PIP).
